Werry Workforce Whāraurau provides training and ongoing professional development opportunities for those delivering The Incredible Years® parent and teacher programme, including support to maintain programme fidelity, to become an accredited Group Leader and to deliver with cultural fidelity.
Marae-based Group Leader Training | Kaimahi Telehui | Regional Hui | Kaimahi Consultation Days | Māori and Pacific resources
We have a growing kaimahi workforce delivering Incredible Years® across New Zealand. IY Mentor Lisa Herewini has been instrumental in this development. In addition to one Marae-based Group Leader training, innovations to engage with and support kaimahi in their practice such as Kaimahi Telehui and Regional Hui, have been trialled. These events, co-facilitated by Lisa Herewini and Tania Anstiss and supported by Stacey Porter, have been highly-valued opportunities for kaimahi to share successes and challenges in a safe and supportive environment. Kaimahi report increased confidence in their ability to incorporate tikanga into their practice and have appreciated the recognition of how their specialised knowledge and skill enhances their delivery of the programme to whānau.
A suite of Incredible Years® resources has been developed for Māori and Pacific group leaders to enable both cultural and programme fidelity.
