Supporting Families 2018 Auckland National Conference Open Dialogue

What is Open Dialogue?

Open Dialogue is a recovery-oriented approach to mental health care originating in Finland in the 1980s. This respectful and empowering approach emphasises early intervention and flexible, tailored treatment to meet the specific needs of each person and their family.
Open Dialogue has been adopted across diverse international healthcare settings where it has been adapted according to contextual and cultural factors.
Currently, Open Dialogue is being implemented in teams at St. Vincent’s Hospitals in Sydney, and selected community teams in NSW.How does the conference work?

Through keynote presentations, short workshops and clinical demonstration, the conference programme will introduce the audience to the core ideas of Open Dialogue and reflect on the key issues regarding implementation of the approach.

Who Should Attend?
